About VMA
Being vegan definitely has its advantages but many times it is hard to stay on course. After a year of eating vegan I had drifted into the trap of frozen and pre-packaged foods. It was hard for me to find the time and money needed to eat properly. Processed foods tend to have less nutritional value when processed. The more food is processed the less it has to offer when eaten. I was worried my healthy choice to be vegan was going to become a problem because of my lack of knowledge and experience preparing unprocessed, fresh fruits and vegetables.
Two years ago the point of this blog was to hold me accountable to plan ahead, budget, create a grocery list, and prepare freshly cooked meals at least three times a week. The good news is it has work but food preparation is an ongoing process. As soon as my calendar fills up my refrigerator starts to empty and I’m right back where I started.
There is another point to this blog. Sharing what I have learned so others can easily find ways to make vegan food that is quick, easy and still provides the nutrients every vegan needs. I post anything from new foods I’ve discovered to recipes I’ve tried to resources I find helpful. So welcome and please, if you have a question or an idea feel free to post a comment.
Good luck!
I think you’ve been doing really well overall on this lately. I’ve been really impressed with how you and Kam have been handling your dietary plan! If my tests come back positive for being gluten intolerant I will be joining you in the blogging of food adventures. Perhaps I’ll follow your example and create a Gluten-Free Meal Adventures blog
Thanks Sean, a gluten-free blog would be fun to read! Kam and I do have gluten in our diet but we will avoid it whenever you join us for dinner. We enjoy eating seitan which is a great way to get protein but it is made mostly out of vital wheat gluten.
I did end up starting a food blog and your Vegan Meal Adventures are blogrolled on it
